Quoting/Estimating Company: Acorn Wire and Iron Works, LLC Location: Chicago, IL Description: If you have a background in quoting / estimating division 10 specialties with detailing experience and the ability to manage a project all the way through – we would like to talk with you. The company is a privately owned architectural products manufacturing company serving the general contractor / construction management market with more than 90 years of strong customer relationships and a stellar record of quality. This entry level position offers lots of variety, with opportunities to utilize your estimating, take-off, project management, and even sales skills. You'll work on projects in the commercial, industrial and governmental markets. The quoter / estimator will be required to quote the job using specifications and drawings. This is an excellent opportunity to join a leading manufacturer in the industry representing one of the best-in-class product lines in the world. Local candidates are desired or those willing to relocate themselves to the Chicago land area. Compensation will be based on applicable experience, education and knowledge of industry. Benefit package includes health insurance. Employee must be dependable and earn the trust of the plant manager, sales team and of course our contractor clients. The applicant chosen will be expected to produce results in a relatively short amount of time. Summary: In this role you will add up pricing from our established parts and price lists to generate accurate and timely quotes. Responsibilities: Maintain a close working relationship with: Sales, Production, Order Entry and Shipping. You will be required to do takeoffs, verify specifications, create parts list with pricing, and then communicate that to several customers a day. Track projects through manufacturing processes, working with in-house fabrication shop personnel, outside vendors (i.e. powder coating and galvanizing company), and contractor project managers and engineers. Coordinate deliveries of product and installations. Taking responsibility for projects from winning the quote to on-time delivery is critical to this position. Complete and maintain associated records, documents and logs such as Quote Packages, etc. Performs other job functions as assigned. Work with other personnel to improve efficiency and accuracy within the quoting department. We offer a competitive salary commensurate with your experience.
