Description: Manages 8-10 salespersonsUnder general direction, develops and directs an owner sales force to deliver the existing building market business plan for the K-12 / Local Government markets. Analyzes market opportunities, develops and implements strategies to both maximize margins and increase revenue growth.PRINCIPAL DUTIES:Analyzes the market and current business performance. Develops strategies to pursue consistent with National Vertical Market and Controls Group mission and objectives. Understands the business environment of local markets including legislative, purchasing, and growth trends.Consistent with the Area plan; selects strategic accounts for sales focus and sets aggressive individual and team goals. Maintains proper sales staffing levels and sets individual sales target and key account assignments..Ensures focus on developing new business at target accounts across all lines of business. Consistently seeks to expand the scope of business with key accounts. Qualifies, assesses and reviews potential customers and opportunities. Ensures the development and maintenance of Account Plans with assigned key accounts.Participates as the management team representative on strategically important key accounts. Establishes and maintains personal long-term customer relationships with key owners and owner representatives to influence opportunities.Develops and trains sales force on established sales processes, tools, and standards. Provide consistent level of sales coaching, includes monthly one-on-one(s), customer sales calls, and critical opportunity reviews.Establishes clear performance expectations for sales force. Uses standards to assess the behavior, activities and performance of each salesperson. Provides consistent feedback to motivate sales people toward improved performance.Manages the sales forecast at a team level, assists with the area or National Vertical Market sales forecast. Deploys the tools, processes and standards developed to meet owner sales objectives for profitability and growth.Builds and fosters a team environment within and across areas. Solicits support from and communicates effectively with internal staff.Ensures sales force is influencing owner staff on strategic construction opportunities and initiates teamwork with Construction sales force.Ensures customer satisfaction and contract compliance.ADDITIONAL DUTIES:Attends and presents at trade shows.Participates in professional organizations.
