Description: Plans and conducts independent work within a global business unitrequiring judgment in the evaluation, selection, application andadaptation of engineering techniques, procedures and criteria. Devisesnew approaches to solving problems.Working knowledge of precedents in the specialty area, the principlesand practices of related technical areas and of coordinating work withother technical disciplines.Understands the standard engineering work planning, scheduling and costestimating, and conducts independent work requiring judgment in theapplication of engineering techniques. Normally uses conventionalapproaches to technical problems encountered.Provides technical direction and assigns work to engineers, designers,and drafters who assist on specific assignments. Perform in-plant seismic / structural screening evaluations of suspendedsystems (piping, HVAC ducting, conduit, cable trays, and supports) andequipment. Identify and document outliers and other conditions judged asrequiring further evaluation. Identify bounding configurations andperform bounding evaluations for those configurations, using MicrosoftExcel as the platform for the calculations. Document boundingevaluations into formal TVA calculations. Prepare design changedocumentation. Review and approve design drawings. Approve changedocuments as required.Basic Qualifications:Bachelors Degree with 5 years related experience in civil structuralengineering profession.Professional Engineer (PE) licensure in any state is required.Candidate must currrently have the eligibility to work and remain in theUS without sponsorship.Preferred Qualifications:Seismic Qualification Utility Group (SQUG) certification or completionof the Department of Energy (DoE) seismic experience data methodstraining course is highly desirable.
