We are currently seeking the following Scheduler 3 in our Charlotte, NC office.POSITION DESCRIPTION & RESPONSIBILITIESScheduling Core Team providing quality / compliance support on an enterprise wide scheduling database- Work with a variety of discipline areas with minimal supervisionServe as lead planner / scheduler for particular project discipline (e.g., Engineering, Procurement,Construction)Communicate any scheduling problem areas to project team and provide options for resolutionReview project contract documents and drawings to determine project scope and schedule developmentOrganize scope into major categories (e.g., Engineering, Procurement, Construction, etc.) to outline deliverables and milestonesDetermine primary time table for deliverablesCoordinate with disciplines to gain project team agreementDetermine scope changes and impacts and initiate change control, as necessarySequence major work priorities into a logical scheduleDetermine critical paths that anchor the overall project completion dateDevelop workarounds to overcome obstacles in the critical pathIntegrate, review, and validate critical path relationships (e.g., predecessors / successors) with primary partiesCalculate total float to report the critical pathManage the interdependencies between all disciplinesPrepare work breakdown structure (WBS) which serves the link to the scope of workPrepare activity coding dictionary to sort and filter activities by system, building, discipline of work, etc.Receive and understand client constraints (e.g., funding, outages, permits)Identify Shaw resource constraints (e.g., availability of specialists)Integrate constraints into project schedule and evaluate schedule impactsDetermine working calendars of each project disciplineCoordinate with Estimating and Construction to determine work durations by commodityEvaluate durations against historical or similar projectsManage and control all scheduling data (e.g., CPM, constraints, durations, WBS, etc.) through project management software (e.g., Primavera)Identify appropriate resource(s), per the scope of workAssign labor hours adequately by resourceInput the estimated resource quantities, hours, and costsEvaluate and analyze resource loading by disciplineLevelize resource(s) based upon analysis of resource availabilityCollect progress updates from responsible authority by disciplineCollect progress updates from subcontractors and vendorsUpdate and evaluate percent complete progress and actual dates based upon progress updatesCalculate project schedule duration after input of progressReview and analyze critical pathCommunicate rules of credit effectively to discipline leads and construction superintendentsOversee reporting of earned value dateOversee budgeting , adjusting, and verifying (actual quantity survey) work packagesDevelop customized schedule reports according to customer requirementsDevelop resource and cost reports from project management softwareProduce and validate critical path reportDevelop milestone schedule reportValidate status report of prior updateCommunicate project status report to project team and client via weekly meetings REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS 5-8 years of independent schedule analysis in the engineering, procurement and construction of major capital projects. Schedule analysis and forecasting skills a priority. Has the ability to collect and review schedule and progress data, produce and document schedule forecasts and report results to management.Candidate must meet the criteria for access to the company's, partners', and clients' technologies.GENERAL INFORMATIONPosition is full-time, salaried-exempt and is located in Shaw Power Headquarters in downtonwn Charlotte, NC.
