This individual is also responsible for architecture and delivery of key Microsoft service offerings and applicable processes. This includes planning, analysis, design, development, implementation, documentation, and reporting associated with these services and their surrounding processes. This individual will be responsible for leading and / or participating in multiple projects and the demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced environment is necessary. This individual must be able to successfully function in an environment where quality and efficiency are expected.Job Responsibilities / Department description:• Determine strategy for Directory Services platform within the Genzyme enterprise.• Ability to gather customer requirements and translate those requirements into short and long term technology strategies or new services offerings.• Provide in-depth technical and design expertise in support of large, complex enterprise projects.o Lead projects using standard project management methodologies to implement these solutions• Work in tandem with high-caliber technical staff to deliver solutions.• Assess and recommend architectural designs / changes to existing systems.• Management of third-party contractors in pursuit of deliverables associated with design and implementation.• Subject matter expert for specific technologieso Microsoft Operating Systemso Active Directory• Tier 4 Support of enterprise Windows environment.• ITIL - SLA development, setting and measuring KPIs, process engineering• Authoring and presentation of senior level management reportsBasic Qualifications:• Ability to coordinate activities, leveraging multiple resources, in order to meet complex project deliverables• Ability to leverage vendors and other third parties to achieve objectives.• Excellent written, presentation, and verbal communication skills.• Ability to lead teams in the design and deployment of Microsoft technologies.• Demonstrated experience presenting technology recommendations from a business perspective.• 10+ years experience managing Active Directory in a complex global environment to include:o Experience with upgrading from Active Directory 2000 to Active Directory 2003 or 2008o Experience with governance of the Directory – specifically around delegating responsibilityo Design, implementation, and maintenance of a GPO structure leveraged by many functional groupso Experience managing Active Directory DNSo Experience in Active Directory site design and sitelink topologyo Experience working with Active Directory integrated enterprise applicationso Experience managing a development Active Directory environment leveraged by many different applications• Bachelor’s degree in systems or computer science or equivalent work experience. • Microsoft certified or equivalent work experience working on Windows 2000, Windows 2003 and Windows 2008• Requires knowledge of and demonstrated experience in: o Windows Operating System configuration and administrationo MOM and / or Microsoft System Center Operations Managero Active Directory management toolso Active Directory performance tuning and capacity planning o Complex problem troubleshooting and root cause analysis skillso Familiarity the principles of ITIL and Service Management• Knowledge of / experience with some or all of the following ancillary technologies:o Enterprise Backup – Netbackup preferredo Server-based anti-virus – McAfee preferredo Networking – Cisco preferredo Microsoft WINSo Windows Server Monitoring – HP Systems Insight Manager preferredo VMWare*MN
