Mechanical Drafter/Designer

Is your craft in draft? Are you an expert with Pro / E? If so you may be who we are looking for! Volt is looking for experienced Drafters / Designers to work as a team with other design drafters, engineers, and suppliers on a large project. Responsibilities Include: *Develop / Modify Pro / E models of , harnesses, sheet metal fabrications, and assemblies. *Prioritize tradeoffs between cost, performance, and schedule requirements. *Consult with engineers and suppliers to develop optimum designs for the assigned projects. *Recommend design alternatives based on outside customer and supplier interactions. *Provide accurate Pro / E models and related engineering drawings which meet drafting standards. *Provide direction to technicians and prototype fabricators to supplement prototype drawings. *Provide input on plans, schedules, and resource estimates to accomplish project objectives. *Solve complex problems that are not well defined involving multiple technologies. The ideal candidates will have the following skills / qualifications: *2-year vocational technical degree in computer aided mechanical design or equivalent. *Minimum of 6-10 years experience using Pro-E CAD software and skilled in the use of most modules. *Demonstrated design expertise in specific mechanical design areas and familiarity with manufacturing processes. *Knowledge and experience with drafting standards and the ability to develop updates. *Ability to work well in a team based work structure and provide direction for other designers / drafters on assigned new product development projects.
