In-process Inspector Company: Telephonics Location: Farmingdale, NY Description: In-process Inspector Division Overview: Founded in 1933, Telephonics started as a defense contractor, manufacturing headsets for military aircraft from a small factory in New York. It gained a reputation as one of the world’s foremost providers of airborne communications equipment for military applications. Shortly after its inception, Telephonics expanded its expertise beyond information and communications technologies to include defense applications covering air, land and sea. Brief Summary: In-process and final inspection of sub-assemblies and final assemblies through various stages of manufacturing, utilizing blue prints, Engineering Change Notices, Interdivisional Work Authorizations, contract reviews and company procedures. Reports any deviation to appropriate production / engineering and / or quality staff. Requirements: One-year certificate from college or technical school plus 5-8 years directly related experience and / or training; or equivalent combination of education or experience. Must be familiar with Mil-Std-454 and / or Mil-Std-2000A. Ability to read and interpret blueprints, charts and some technical electronic documentation required. Must have a background that would permit the U.S. Department of Defense to issue a Secret clearance, which includes US citizenship.
