Your professional knowledge and expertise in the management of occupational safety program to ensure a safe work and learning environment and maintain compliance with UTHSC-H policy, regulatory agency standards, and national guidelines. Additional Summary Specific to Job Primary responsibilities will include: - establish written performance standards, goals and objectives for the program; - areas of responsibility include occupational safety, construction safety, asbestos, emergency preparedness, and fire safety; - identify potential safety and health hazards and risks and develop solutions to identified issues; - must be able to effectively communicate with management, federal, state and local safety and health agencies. Organizational Requirements Bachelor's degree in basic or applied science, engineering, safety, industrial hygiene, or health physics required with a minimum of five years experience in radiation safety, biological safety, industrial hygiene, occupational safety and / or environmental safety or equivalent. Master's degree preferred. Preferred certification depending on the work assignments: Board Certification as a Certified Health Physicist (CHP), Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH), or a Certified Safety Professional (CSP). Departmental Requirements / Preferences Salary Range Commensurate With Experience This position works with Houston Independent School District (H.I.S.D.) students.
