CSG?s El Segundo office is responsible for implementing the Premium Efficiency Cooling Program in the San Diego Gas & Electric service area, which employs a comprehensive approach to moving the residential and small to medium commercial air conditioning markets toward greater energy efficiency. The program is all inclusive, reaching manufacturers, distributors, major retailers, HVAC dealers and contractors, and residential and commercial customers. The primary focus is on equipment efficiency and quality installation. CSG is seeking a Quality Assurance Inspector to ensure the quality and integrity of program standards. The Quality Assurance Inspector will conduct field inspections of HVAC equipment. This entails meeting with contractors and / or customers on site and surveying the equipment and site conditions, completing an inspection form and submitting the data electronically to the Program Manager and Technical Director. A broad knowledge of building construction, HVAC systems, and energy efficiency, and ability to drive to inspections and carry a 22ft extension ladder is required. Responsibilities: ? Perform on-site inspections of residential and commercial HVAC equipment. ? Verify submitted documentation of equipment manufacturer, model, serial number, size and energy efficiency ? Conduct pre-inspections and customer surveys; assist with On-Bill Financing applications ? Complete and record inspections on time ? Coordinate with the customer contact center for scheduling inspections ? Electronically record all inspection findings, daily ? Complete and submit inspection documentation and any required weekly or monthly reports ? Report deceptive, unethical or other non-standard business practices / behaviors of partners ? Assist Technical Director or Program Manager in trainings, data analysis, presentations to industry players, and other duties as determined by the Technical Director or Program Manager Qualifications: ? Excellent customer service and communication skills (verbal, writing, and reporting) ? Work well independently and on a team ? Strong mechanical aptitude and understanding of HVAC systems, rooftop safety and safety issues associated with working around electrical appliances. Must successfully complete workplace safety and injury and illness prevention training program. Training will include on-line safety training and two days field training and periodic on-site training reviews. ? Ability to use hand-tools as appropriate to lift panel covers to inspect nameplate data. ? Ability to carry and climb a 22-foot ladder. ? Must be able to carry 35 lbs and be able to crawl in attic and crawl spaces as needed ? Flexible schedule, some evenings and Saturdays may be required. ? Excellent time organizational and management skills. ? Ability to coordinate with customer service representatives for scheduling appointments. ? Proficiency with basic elements of Microsoft Office: Word, Excel, and Outlook are required. ? Knowledge of energy use and building construction helpful. ? GPS or familiarity with using the Thomas Guide map books or other accurate navigational aids. ? Must have valid drivers license, safe driving record, and no DUIs and must provide own vehicle capable of safely transporting a 22-foot ladder (late-model pickup truck or van preferred. ? Must have basic HVAC hand tools. ? Must pass pre-employment drug screening and background check. Salary Range (based on experience): $12-$15 per hour This is a part-time (approximately 20 hour per week) temporary position, through January 31, 2010, with the possibility of extension beyond this date.
