Description: ITT-AES is seeking a Strategic Planner (Dark Sky, COCOM Support)in Crystal City, VA. Candidate shall be able to apply advanced engineering or analytic principles and concepts in developing innovative solutions to complex problems. Candidate shall be able to analyze operational requirements, technology development initiatives, technology applications, capability gaps, and organizational processes to develop, document, and present feasible concepts for innovative application to emerging problems. Candidate shall be able to discover flaws or inefficiencies in adversary methods and practices. Candidate shall be able to demonstrate, or have demonstrated, outstanding accomplishment, experience, or scholarship in fields ostensibly not relevant to traditional military art. Candidate shall demonstrate self motivation, innate creativity, and creative malevolence. Candidate must understand and use English at a level commensurate with graduate-level university programs. Candidate must possess fluent public speaking skills and confidence, and to present plans and concepts in briefings and presentations with an impeccable level of precision. Candidate must be able to determine and employ discretion in judgment. Specific duties may include any of the following: -Plan, organize, and execute long and short range plans for DoD customer. -Determine tasks, requirements, schedules, and timelines for the accomplishment of the program. -Develop long and short range goals and objectives. -Coordinate with other planning specialists, DoD elements, laboratories, and other agencies and individuals necessary for plan development and execution. -Prepare and execute difficult and innovative plans in support of special operations and other efforts. -Prepare and present briefings on compartmented program stakeholders, supervisors, coworkers, and supporters. -Maintain familiarity with strategic planning doctrine, tactics, techniques, and procedures. -Maintain relationships with DoD, combatant commands, military services, and interagency partners to ensure mission success. -Participate in DoD, combatant command, service, and interagency working groups to facilitate strategic planning. Experience Requirements: Education: For every year of education missing the candidate must have 1.5 years of experience, which will be cumulative to the experience required within the experience section of this position description. Minimum: Bachelor's degree or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience; graduate of Joint Military Planner's Course. Ideal: Master's degree or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience; graduate of Joint Military Planner's Course. Experience: Minimum: At least 10 years experience related to degree or degree-equivalent experience, with at least 1 year experience as a strategic planner or service in a position with similar responsibilities. Ideal: 15+ years combined experience related to degree or degree-equivalent experience, with at least 3 years experience as a strategic planner or service in a position with similar responsibilities; and familiarity with the Joint Operations Planning Process. Applicants selected must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information and have a current favorable Single Scope Background Investigation (SSBI)which requires US citizenship.
