Principal Planner Company: City of Sunrise Location: Sunrise, FL Description: City of Sunrise November 4, 2009 through November 20, 2009 (Open until filled) Principal Planner ($62,745 - $86,493 salary neg. depending on qualifications) Responsible supervisory and administrative work involving the overall day-to-day management of planning activities within the Community and Development Department. Performs a variety of analytical tasks related to implementation of the Land Development Code for the City.  Supervising, directing, and coordinating the activities of subordinates engaged in the planning, development and implementation of  assigned tasks.  Manages the City’s development review processes, including assigning and reviewing site plans, master plans and zoning review of permit applications. Req’s: Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Urban Planning or related field, including AICP registration. Min. three (3) years of responsible professional experience in the area of urban planning, including supervisory experience. Preference will be given to candidates with extensive site plan review experience. Knowledge of SunGuard NaviLine desirable. Possession of a valid driver’s license and a good driving record.
