Architect Required Our firm has acquired a building in San Jose and we are looking for an architect that can assist us with interior redesign and some structural changes to the building. We anticipate this role can be a project role or an employee role. Our firm may outsource to a local firm or hire a person as an in-house architect for this and other work beyond this project. Significant experience is not required, although it is a plus. Our engineers will provide the basic design objectives and we then expect that the architect will make recommendations about how to implement the design requirements, prepare drawings to the requirements of the City of San Jose, California and then manage the project to completion. Architectural requirements will include: 1. Demolition plan for interior office space 2. Structural plan for interior offices, bathrooms and elevator or lift 3. HVAC and Electrical plans for reconstruction of these after demolition 4. Building elevations for exterior facing building modifications. 5. Building plans for construction teams with design input from users. This is a small but complete project that will encompass two stories and 5,000 sq ft of interior space on a ½ acre lot. The interior requirements are to partially demo floor #1 and to demo most of the interior space on floor #2. Reconstruction of the interior space shall be into a modern Silicon Valley work environment focused on green engineering and interesting design. Exterior modifications will include upgrading the facade of the building and re-engineering building access both from the street and rear of the building. We are looking for creative ideas, out-of-the-box thinking and a person or team that can assist us in preparing drawings and managing construction. We do not require extensive experience but we do require the ability to work effectively by taking design information and translating this into workable drawings and contract specifications.
