Raytheon Polar Services is the primary contractor for the National Science Foundation's (NSF) U.S. Antarctic Program. We are currently looking for a Draftsperson to deploy to McMurdo Antarctic research station on a contract basis from approximately October 2010 to February 2011. We are looking for Primary and Alternate employees to fill all contract positions. The Primary is first in line for the position. The Alternate is next in line to deploy should the Primary be unable to meet deployment requirements. Responsibilities: Responsible for producing AutoCAD plans and sketches for construction and maintenance projects in Antarctica. Keeps the CAD Supervisor and Tasking Engineer informed of the status of drafting activities. Keeps track of all drawings, current and archived in both electronic and hard copy. Accomplishes AutoCAD drafting of design drawings at the direction of the CAD Supervisor and Design Engineers, and accomplishes as-built drawings during and after construction utilizing the approved as-built procedure. Scans red-lined drawings for sending drawing change information back to DHQ. Responsible for maintaining a safe workplace program and ensuring safety is the highest priority in the work place. Performs other duties as required. Qualifications: REQUIRED SKILLS : High school diploma or equivalent is required. Minimum two years CAD drafting experience is required. Experience using AUTOCADD 2004 or higher is required. Additional Polar Information: All contract positions include competitive salary and a comprehensive benefits package. For the time you are in Antarctica compensation also includes travel to and from the ice, room & board, and you are eligible for a performance-based bonus upon successful completion of your contract.
