This includes design work; checking designs by others, project coordination and management, construction management of the mechanical discipline via periodic site visits and assistance in the plant check out and start-up. Specifically, knowledge of Project Management is a must as the employee will be on site frequently and be expected to understand many different aspects of a project. Schedule must be maintained in MS Project and coordinated with vendors and subcontractors.·         Following through with work through the construction stage including assisting with proposals and conducting site visits.·         Testing and checkout of mechanical designs on site to certify it is operational. Project Management Competency Requirements include: ·         Extensive travel to job sites lasting up to three months at a time. ·         Project scheduling.·         Familiarity with project budgets including budget reviews.·         Experience with Contract Management.·         Owner interaction.·         A working knowledge of day to day safety requirements while on site. A Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering is necessary for this position and Professional Registration is highly desirable. Six to ten years of experience in Mechanical Engineering is required with an emphasis on piping/mechanical design of large capital projects.
