The company - named one of the “World’s Most Ethical Companies of 2007, 2008 and 2009” – has established a vibrant and rewarding working environment based on its values, philosophy and promise “at Eaton, you can make a difference”. The Information Technologies organization of Eaton Corporation offers an exciting opportunity for our two new Mission Critical Data Centers in the Louisville, Kentucky area.     Each of the locations offers this position as follows:   Data Center Chief Engineer Electrical / Mechanical: This individual will manage and be responsible for all duties of facilities management, including Building Operations, Facility Systems Preventative Maintenance Program, which includes all mechanical, electrical and plumbing (MEP) systems, Space Management, Security, and Management of People (future).   This individual will provide risk mitigation and assurance that all support systems operate as designed.   Responsibilities to include: Qualified individual will have the ability to coordinate facilities personnel scheduling to ensure qualified personnel are available to provide Data Center coverage.   Ensuring security staff is following all procedures for physical access, deliveries, and walkthroughs.   It will also be important to conduct security system physical access audits as required to ensure SOX compliance. Qualified individual will partner with Facilities IT personnel by coordinating transportation of IT equipment within and into the facility; provisioning power for new IT equipment or decommissioning of IT equipment; and providing space allocation management on the data center floor.   Qualified individual will manage the facility systems preventative maintenance program by developing and leading the execution of all written maintenance procedures and operating procedures that are required to properly service and maintain the facility; develop, direct and assist with the execution / scheduling of all routine daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual preventative maintenance tasks and responsibilities; provide detailed management and preventative maintenance for all HVAC and Electrical systems; practice and maintain normal and emergency procedures and call lists for all systems and facilities infrastructure. Qualified individual will develop and oversee implementation of energy efficiency practices for the data center and critical facilities infrastructure; proactively monitor operation of electrical and mechanical equipment supporting the facility; be responsible for government regulatory compliance, EPA/OSHA compliance, safety program, CFC handling, and other similar programs; develop, manage, and test all Emergency Operating and Evacuation Procedures; be responsible for physical housekeeping to ensure neatness, cleanliness, environmental safety and security in the workplace.Job Qualifications/Educational RequirementsQualifications: The ideal candidate will possess a bachelor’s degree or higher in electrical or mechanical engineering or related fields and at least 15 years work experience in Data Center Facilities Operation and Infrastructure Management in mission critical data centers.   In lieu of a bachelor's degree the candidate must possess a high school diploma with at least 20 years of stated essential qualifications.  A valid electrical or HVAC refrigeration license is preferred.   Individual will possess strong leadership, communication, and presentation skills.    A thorough knowledge of construction techniques and terminology including the ability to read and interpret blueprints, construction drawings and documents is essential.   Other qualifications include a strong technical knowledge of electrical theory and practical use in the maintenance and operation of mission critical power equipment; paralleling switchgear, redundant uninterruptible power supply systems, DC battery strings, multi-source electrical utility switchgear, standby generators, and diesel fuel storage and delivery systems.     A strong technical knowledge in the operation and function of computer room environments, consisting of various heating and cooling systems; Centrifugal chillers, chilled water and closed loop systems, high capacity chilled water and thermal storage cooling systems, CRAH and CRAC air handling equipment and knowledge of water treatment practices. In accordance with Eaton’s policy, a drug test and background check will be required of the selected candidate prior to the start of the position. Required Software Skills: A working knowledge of Computer-aided design software; proficiency in Microsoft Office software A valid driver’s license and excellent driving record is essential.
