Job Title: Engineering Project & Construction Director Company: Location: San Francisco, CA Description: PRIMARY SCOPE: Responsible for coordinating and overseeing utility solar PV project implementation activities including design and engineering, estimation, procurement, and construction management of projects throughout North America. Supports business development in evaluating new project opportunities. PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES: Manages the implementation of Company's utility solar PV projects ranging from 5-50 MW or more using a combination of external engineering and construction firms as well as internal procurement and engineering resources. Identifies suitable external engineering and construction companies, manages bid and selection processes, and negotiates contracts with the selected firms. Coordinates procurement of major components with Company's China procurement team. Coordinates and leverages Company's internal China-based engineering capability. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES REQUIRED: Fluent bi-lingual language skills in English and Mandarin preferred. Knowledge of effective management approaches, tools and training for power projects Demonstrated success in vendor/supplier negotiation and management Strong communications skills in written, oral, and presentation formats. Ability to develop strong interpersonal networks within the organization. Project management in renewable energy industry. Worked in a ?start-up? environment and applies a ?Hands-on? approach to perform detailed tasks. Leadership qualities. Project/goal-oriented focus. QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED: BS Degree in engineering or applied sciences. Master's Degree desirable Minimum of 10 years relevant experience in the power industry plus at least 1 year in solar power industries working on project design/construction management. Demonstrated increased responsibility and project success with a solid work history. Significant previous exposure to both small andtrial projects. Responsible for managing project execution by the selected engineering and construction firms within budget and schedule. Oversee preparation of monthly internal management reports, including project financial results. Supports the business development team in evaluating project opportunities, developing preliminary project designs and cost estimation. Ensure, promote and monitor that all projects comply with Company's health, safety and environmental requirements in accordance with applicable law and with corporate quality requirements.

Provide on-site construction management and back-up the VP-Development Engineering and Construction. Previous work in start-up environment preferred. Responsibilities • Provide direction for Calera’s on-site construction management teams (Construction Manager, Construction Engineer, construction management staff and all on-site business management functions). • Perform on-site Construction Manager role as needed, directing the on-site day to day contractor construction activities (This will be initial assignment until multiple sites are staffed with Construction managers). • Backup the VP-Development Engineering and Construction. • Negotiate Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC) contracts. • Liaison between Calera’s Process Engineering group and EPC firms to insure consistency of detailed design engineering for construction. • Review project and equipment specifications and prepare bid packages for EPC services, review and submit bid award documentation. • Assist in determining site selection technical qualifications; perform reviews of potential host site technical characteristics. Requirements • Bachelors Degree in Engineering, Construction Management or equivalent • Must have strong experience with large scale power/energy and/or cement plant construction • Minimum 10 years industrial engineering and/or management experience • Strong management and leadership skills • Ability to travel world-wide • Excellent communication and organizational skills • Proficient in use of construction management tools (Scheduling tools such as Primavera and Microsoft Project, Cost Engineering tools such as Excel, Word) • Experience with Contract negotiations, Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC) firms, union and non-union labor management and utility power plant operations *Principals only.
