JOB SUMMARY: Position is expected to develop, coordinate, and implement a strategic plan to help grow and increase construction sales across the southwest region into targeted SIC coded customers.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.Works with the regions Area Vice President’s (AVP’s) and VP Sales and Marketing to define and develop the regions construction business, and ancillary service and product offerings.Colloborates with other Airgas entities such as Airgas Red-D-Arc and Airgas Oilind Safety to differentiate Airgas’ construction business from competitors, and insures their services are included in the regions construction business.Establishes a monthly report that provides data relative to customer sales, service needs, market trends, and competitor activities.Builds an effective business plan to target small, medium and large construction contractors throughout the region, and utilizes local Airgas Construction Specialists and Account Managers to facilitate the signing of this business along with the signing of other businesses independent of these resources. Maintains an active target list that will be sent to the VP of Sales and Marketing on a monthly basis. Uses both prior and current business relationships, and knowledge of the market to keep regional areas informed of new construction jobs moving into their area prior to groundbreaking.Identifies and articulates a compelling Airgas value proposition for various construction company customers as well as Airgas sales representatives.Leverages industry and vertical market knowledge to forecast trends, which may impact Airgas’ construction business, providing feedback to regional leadership, including competitive information, customer expectations, industry trends, etc.Evaluates the need for special services (such as job site stores), and if identified works through the Airgas system to develop turnkey capabilities within the region.Responsible for communicating any new processes or plans that are directed to the regional companies by the National Construction Team.
