The Drafter position is responsible for creating new and updating existing drawings of offices, common space, potential office space scenarios as well as detailed drawings of our infrastructure systems for all manufacturing and distribution plants. This position will work in both AutoCad and Solidworks and will take direction from the Facilities & Engineering supervisors and project managers. SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: None ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: - Assist Facilities staff on projects involving modification of existing workspaces and infrastructure via drafting support - Work with vendors to ensure supplied drawing updates to current and future work are accurate as-built - Apply facilities mechanical & architectural drafting standards to existing drawings - Accurately measure and create detailed 3D drawings and models - Ability to work with existing drawings in multiple formats - Strong organizational skills - Assist department in creating a control system for regular drawing updates and modifications. OTHER NECESSARY FUNCTIONS: - Follows all policies, procedures, ergonomic standards and safety requirements directed by GMCR and the department. - Performs other duties as requested by management. QUALIFICATIONS: - Associated Degree in Engineering or Facilities Management - 3 year prior experience in facilities and infrastructure drafting - Strong understanding of facilities and infrastructure systems - Proficient in AutoCad - Knowledgeable in Solidworks - Meticulous attention to detail - Ability to use Microsoft Office programs - Ability to take direction from multiple individuals - Ability to work independently or in a team as required - Ability to travel as needed - Valid drivers license and a clean driving record - Positive attitude with ability to work in a fast paced environment - Excellent communication skills - Knowledge of Microsoft Project a plus, but not required - Ability to uphold Safety standards, participate in Continuous Process Improvement on the job, and follow our Manufacturing best practices. - Ability to get along with others, be punctual, and follow instructions. - Ability to follow GMCR policies and procedures as well as our Operating principles. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/WORKING CONDITIONS: For General Production: - Ability to lift 75 pounds frequently with mechanical assistance - Ability to lift 30 pounds on a regular basis and 50 pounds occasionally. - Ability to constantly lift, bend, stretch and stand during entire shift - Ability to push/pull up to 1.500 pounds using supplied equipment - Ability to frequently kneel, squat, bend, and stoop, twist, and reach overhead with repetitive motions For General Office: - Predominately sedentary light office position with high frequency of keyboarding/computer work required (67% - 100% of the workday). Description:
The Energizer St. Albans, Vermont Manufacturing facility is seeking a Computer-Aided Design (CAD) Designer for its Engineering/Technical Services Department. This position will entail generation of complex drawings, bills of material, operating instructions and related documentation for high speed equipment. This position requires development of design concepts while completing design layouts and assembly drawings. Communicating technical issues accurately, applying technical knowledge creatively and exchanging ideas with Engineering staff will be required. Must be able to utilize CAD skills to develop precise solutions to form, fit and function problems. Must have the capability to learn and use advanced engineering software such as 3-D Solids Modeling software. Will conducts CAD work within prescribed guidelines of database management system. PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Uses CAD software to create engineering drawings of complete products, machine sub-assemblies, and production lines. Adheres to company drafting, CAD, and design criteria standards. Develops design concepts proposed by engineers. Performs calculations for mechanical elements of machine design. Assists others with technical drawing issues and checks drawings and bills of material. Maintains accurate documentation of design projects including, but not limited to, engineering releases, revisions, instructions and bills of material. Follows up on equipment prove-in results and is aided by engineers in refining designs. Assists engineers with projects and tracks purchased part processing and supplier services. Additional duties as assigned. Completes designs of sub-assemblies and assemblies of products and equipment which have a unit value of up to $300K. Fully adheres to company ISO and ANSI design standards. Designs may be used worldwide. Reports to appropriate departmental supervisor. Significant communication and coordination of projects is performed with Engineering staff. Works with a high level of independence, is an analytical thinker. May travel to assist engineer with prove-in or troubleshooting of equipment. Researches available resources of products and services to assure timely completion of projects. Checks drawing work of others. QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED EDUCATION: High school and/or vocational school diploma. Formal CAD training with certificate of completion or significant applicable knowledge. Associate of science degree or equivalent in Mechanical Engineering Technology or related field or significant applicable knowledge. Bachelor of Science degree program credit preferred. Advance computer, engineering or CAD programming training preferred. EXPERIENCE (YEARS/TYPE): Minimum 6 - 8 years experience in Drafting and Design performing tasks of increasing difficulty (in addition to education). Demonstrated ability to be fully proficient at CAD. Has demonstrated interest in developing advance CAD skills.
