Responsibilities include estimating time, material, and manpower requirements for preliminary project estimates. Position is in a corporate office environment with occasional visits to customer field locations. Major duties include the review of mechanical, piping, and structural blueprints, plans and project specifications to determine required applications, tool requirements, and material needs for project bids. Interface with customers and vendors regarding projects and gather information; research specific applications in trade/technical manuals.

We offer premium quality plumbing and heating services for industrial, commercial, Hotel-Casino and Hi Rise Condominium projects.

General Responsibilities:

• Maintain an atmosphere of trust and cooperation with subcontractors and suppliers
• Organize and prepare a conceptual, negotiated, or bid estimate with minimal supervision
• Evaluate actual cost data and determine unit price.
• Read Specifications and have through knowledge of potential cost exposures.
• Perform a detailed take-off from completed plans in the plumbing specialty.
• Perform Conceptual take-offs in all plumbing or HVAC categories
• Review all addendum/modifications issued during the estimating period for cost impact. Modify quantity take-off due to addendums
• Note and bring to the attention of the individual responsible for the estimate, ambiguities and discrepancies in the bid documents.
• Prepare separate sub-item spread sheets and be prepared to analyze and summarize one or more of them on bid as assigned.
• Price self perform work in a logical method based on a crew/production basis.
• Take accurate well documented telephone quotations
• Prepare bid tabulation forms, and receive and evaluate sub bids
• Complete bid day summary sheet
• Write the proposal

• Five (5) years Plumbing Estimating Experience
• Five (5) years HVAC Estimating Experience
• Mid-rise or High-rise (20-60 floors) projects
• Extensive knowledge of computer operations

Special Considerations:

• Must have thorough knowledge of estimating procedures and documents, pricing, take-offs, and cost breakdowns.
• A plus if candidate has knowledge of Aquatics-pool, Fire and water

Estimator Needed. Well-respected General Civil/Pipeline Contractor in business 26 Years, seeking an Estimator. Minimum 3 Years experience or CM Degree preferred. The Construction Estimator will be responsible for all phases of producing roadways and site development infrastructure, including private, commercial, residential, municipal, state, and federal cost estimates and final bids. This could include assistance with concepts, design, value engineering, plan review, budgeting, etc. as required.

Education Required:
Extensive field experience performing duties listed in “Job Description”, (and, or) a degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a Business degree combined with civil construction experience.

Skills Required:
A full range of computer skills including office applications and software, experience with a major estimating software program would be very beneficial, as would Cad experience. Strong people, communication, analytical, and mechanical skills are required. Applicants must be able multi-task, and be able to plan work as required to complete goals by deadlines. Person must be a detail oriented, high producer who can work well in a busy office environment.

Compensation:
Compensation will be determined by individual qualifications, while all levels of prior experience will be considered, from students to highly experienced.

We have an immediate opening for an experienced Project Estimator/Manager in our Los Angeles District office. In this hands-on position, you will be responsible for estimating and the day-to-day managing of drilled foundation projects.

Responsibilities include the following:
Estimating and managing profitable drilled shaft, CIDH, access shaft, soil remediation, earth retention (shoring) and hourly drill rental projects primarily in the Los Angeles, San Bernardino, Riverside, Orange, Ventura, and Santa Barbara County areas, with an emphasis on building long term customer relationships.

Qualified candidates must have a B.S. in Engineering, Geology, or Construction Management, and/or 5+ years of foundation drilling estimating and/or drilled foundation project management experience, and must be proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word.
