Essential Job duties/Responsibilities:

In this position individual coordinates, directs and manages SunWize solar electric generating systems installations at commercial customer sites as its primary duty and residential sites as secondary duty.

Other duties may be assigned:

• Manages and organizes pre-installation preparation by coordinating logistics, processing change orders, scheduling for installation and by performing installation related administrative duties.
• Directs and manages subcontractors and leased construction labor by fulfilling on-site supervisory role in order to maintain the standard of work quality.
• Coordinates and facilitates work by collaborating with project manager and engineering staff by following order specific detailed instructions with respect to engineering drawings, wiring diagrams, work orders, special packaging, required documentation and or any other specifics.
• Maintains and procures hand tools, power tools, test equipment, calibrated parts and mechanisms for assembly of product and for meeting product specification requirements/standards.
• Manages, maintains and secures on-hand inventory at job site and coordinates logistics of material transported from the warehouse to jobsite.
• Maintains and promotes the highest level of safety standard at jobsite by complying with OSHA Safety standards and by implementing the best practice.
• Directs, manages and monitors work progress to bring project to completion by meeting customer due dates.

Experience/Requirements:

• 3 to 5 years direct experience in a construction environment in a similar capacity, carpentry and/or roofing experience and or combination of work experience and training is required.
• Solid knowledge of Bill of Materials and ability to read construction drawings are required.
• Individual must be highly organized, professional and results oriented.
• Effective use of reading, writing, oral communication skills, presentation techniques, meeting mechanics, and team building techniques.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills and proven ability to work effectively with all organizational levels.
• Travel is required and candidates must have valid California driver’s license.
• Holds personal interest in Solar and overall renewable energy field.

STRUCTURAL SUPERINTENDENT (Heavy Industry)

JOB PURPOSE:
Provide technical direction and manage assigned metal craft resources that accomplish assigned steel, sheet metal and welding work of company contracts and projects.

KEY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Oversee and monitor schedule performance including review of ongoing and upcoming ship repair fabrication and maintenance projects; investigating late activities; and assisting project supervision in findings and solutions.
• Monitor and evaluate project budget performance which includes reviewing ongoing steel fabrication and upcoming projects; developing more production work methods and investigation of over budget items.
• Oversee shift turnover which includes monitoring of work turned over to back shifts, both amount and type of work assigned and quality and quantity of work accomplished.
• Oversee craft supervision that has been assigned to the planning process to ensure preparation for new work, which includes estimating, project procedure planning, ship checking, reviewing specifications or drawings and developing manning plans. Participate in the development of schedule planning and budget during the preplanning phase.
• Responsible for safety performance of production personnel (Welders, Ship Fitters and Sheet Metal Workers) assigned to the department. Works closely with our Safety Manager to improve safety awareness of all assigned to department and to reduce hazardous conditions.
• Perform personnel activities including the hiring and supervision of journeymen; force reductions, promotions and demotions. Train and motivate employees in the areas of technical knowledge, safety and communication. Ensure that company policies are adhered to and the policies are clearly understood by subordinates. Train supervision on how and when to fill out I.D.R.’s, Back-up Sheets, and other company forms.
• Utilize the material supply and control system in order to support current and future project production efforts.
• Ensure that inter-department relations are maintained in a cooperative manner. Ensure that new technical methodologies are investigated in order to improve the company's capabilities and productivity.
• Plan and review budget for department. Monitor and control assigned activities to meet assigned goals.
• Perform structural repair estimates as required.
• Perform similar, incidental and other duties as assigned.

MAJOR BUSINESS/PROFESSIONAL CONTACTS:
Frequent contact with various ship superintendents regarding job inquires and with outside vendors regarding material updates, product research and new product lines. Routine contact with corporate personnel, production and quality assurance management and supervision, and with safety equipment vendors and supply vendors.

EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION REQUIRED:
Education typically equivalent to a formal apprenticeship program with a minimum of 10 years related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS (REPORTS TO/SUPERVISION EXERCISED):
Reports to Production Director and Ship Manager. Supervises craft personnel.

Job Summary:
Responsible for all technical and site execution issues of the project as well as general on-site craft supervision, site project quality, site safety, subcontractor coordination and quality control. Work as a liaison with owner’s representatives, design team and home office project management. The Site Superintendent is also responsible for all site quality and safety reporting and procedures; task execution within the project scope, schedule and budget; and conformance to the project design and specifications.

Responsibilities

• Manage all residential construction projects and site development.
• Plan, organize, and report the on-site residential construction management activities directly related to large photovoltaic projects.
• Oversee contractors and sub-contractors to ensure projects are in full conformance with plans, specifications, schedule, and budget.
• Complete direction and development of large photovoltaic residential projects from initial stages to final commissioning.
• Experience with electrical wiring in residential applications.
• Experience with mechanical installations, general construction and ladder work.
• Identify means and methods to reduce costs, minimize risks, and increase speed of execution.
• Working knowledge of the NEC Code and AC and DC electrical systems.
• Working knowledge of Universal Building Codes.
• Experience operating all types of hand-held and power tools, as well as small machinery.
• Hands on experience with common building materials and techniques such as roofing materials, lumber, wood, concrete, etc.

Requirements

• At least 6-8 years of experience in construction management of multiple-discipline construction projects.
• BA or BS degree in Construction Management/Science or equivalent work experience.
• Experience in PV system and basic working knowledge of power generation a plus.
• Knowledge in state and city codes, regulations, insurance issues, and permitting issues required.
• Experience leading a large team in PV residential installation.
• Ability to guide and lead complete construction efforts from estimating, management and scheduling skills.
• Strong customer service skills required.
• A personal commitment to a safe working environment.
• Strong computer application skills including MS Office Suite; Power Point, Excel and Word.
• Detail oriented, organized, with excellent communication skills.
• Periodic domestic and international travel may be required in support of sales and projects.
