Summary of Position with General Responsibilities: This position primarily reports to the BMD Quality Engineering Manager however oversight of the day to day business activities will be supervised by the Seed Order Management team. The position includes support and verification of customer radioisotope orders for accuracy against original customer requirements and associated seed order placement activities with seed vendors and external service providers. These duties will adjust to the needs of the business as it grows. Essential Job Functions: The Brachytherapy Order Processing department is responsible for arranging for the supply of isotopes that will be used in the treatment of cancer.  As a result, the individual in this position will be at times expected to work late evenings and possibly holidays.Significant responsibility for determining the correctness of Bard Seed Order Specialists order input of customer requirements as compared to the original customer request. Accurately prepares inspection paperwork. Keeps accurate/orderly records of inspections. Resolves any discrepancies with internal order records and the original customer requirements. Trends error type information for feedback to Seed Management (where appropriate). Properly inspects and processes customer seed orders in accordance with procedures and specifications.Properly identifies and segregates customer orders as to its inspection status (folder system) Maintain the database relative to brachytherapy seed order processing and error tracking. Maintain records of all orders and confirmations. Basic Qualifications: • Understanding of radioactive materials physical characteristics, dose calculation, or the ability to assimilate the basic knowledge quickly. • Proficient in the use of a personal computer with basic level of keyboarding skills. • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal). • Excellent interpersonal communication skills. • Ability to handle and maintain confidential information. • Excellent organizational skills. • Demonstrated excellence in the continuous handling of meticulous detail. • Must be detail oriented • Ability to read and interpret treatment planning needle loading plan computer output. • Self starter, able to work independently with little direct supervision • Excellent data entry, proofreading, and typing skills. Education and/or Experience: Associate Level Degree education or equivalent (entry level position) Physical Demands: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit and talk or hear.  Employee is required to meet with other personnel in other areas of building.  Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision. This individual will work in an office environment with moderate noise and infrequent exposure to fumes and airborne particles.  Infrequent lifting of up to 25 lbs will be required.

Typical duties inclulde: Reads contract plans, specifications, shop drawings, and regulatory agency manuals. Observes construction work such as trench excavation, pipe placement, backfill operations, pile driving, structure placement, steel reinforcement, concrete pouring, signalization and lighting, etc. Performs density and asphalt tests; samples and verifies certification of materials. The Quality Inspectors check parts being received by the customer, using the proper inspection techniques and equipment, accurately, efficiently, and in a professional manner. Duties and Responsibilities ? Inspect, or perform audits on incoming material, using measuring and gaging tools and visual techniques in determining conformance to engineering specifications. ? Determine the method(s) and process(es) needed to measure part conformance, according to the allowed dimensional tolerances and normal gaging practices. ? Document and report non-conformances to specifications using computerized quality documentation system. ? Contain non-conforming parts and materials. ? Sort and rework non-conforming parts and material. ? Prioritize the order of short-quantity loads, and manage FIFO flow of received goods. Skills and Requirements ? Experience to reading and interpreting blueprints and engineering drawings. ? Understanding of inspection techniques, and the selection and manipulation of measuring tools, equipment, and gages. ? Demonstrated ability in interpreting engineering specifications. ? Ability to interpret geometrically dimensioned and toleranced (GD&T) engineering drawings. ? Ability in handling and maintaining precision measuring tools, equipment, and gages. ? Perform visual inspection of painted surfaces, surface defects, cleanliness, and packaging. ? Proficiency using computer software programs. ? Able to unpack and repackage incoming materials safely and as instructed. ? Operating-level knowledge of material handling equipment - pallet jacks and hoists. Education & Experience ? 2 - 4 year technical degree preferred ? High school diploma or GED required ? Experience in manufacturing enviornment required ? Previous inspection of manufactured goods preferred
