Description:
Responsibilities of Inspectors to support the US Forest Service is to provide advice, recommendations, and document support on acceptance and inspection planning in the acquisition requirement phase, but when possible inspectors should advise in the acquisition planning phase to make sure acceptance criteria are appropriate and well described. Pre-Award Documentation and Source Selection. Assist in evaluation process and assure written documentation to support either informal or formal source selection procedures. Post-award Support. Prepare appropriate documentation for inspection and acceptance of products and services. Provide justification on contractor performance to the contracting officer and Contracting Officers Representative relative to the acceptance of services/products, exercise of options, preparation of modifications, and the resolution of performance problems. Assist in evaluating requests for equitable adjustments (REAs) and claims when needed.Required Qualifications:Typically requires bachelors degree (in business or technical field) or equivalent, and five to seven years of related (government acquisition) experience. Experience in awarding and administeringeither services, construction,and/or architect-engineering contracts, and/or grants and agreements.Desired Qualifications:Defense Acquisition Workforce Improvement Act (DAWIA) Level I Certification in program management or equivalent. Efficientuser of FFIS or equivalent systems.




Job Title: INSPECTOR

Description:
Provide field inspection statewide for New Mexico DOT.  Description of Duties:  The Lead Inspector shall conduct construction inspection and monitor contract work for compliance with plans, specifications and contract documents; shall establish and maintain documentation and report requirements based on construction plans and specifications; recommend design improvements for guardrail installation, culverts and lighting; interpreting plans, specifications and contract documents to ensure compliance.  The Inspector shall be capable of coordinating with the contractor and the project management to identify and resolve inspection issues; maintain public relations with consultant and general public.  The Inspector shall be capable of ensuring inspection compliance with safety rules and regulations.  The Inspector shall be capable of determining final pay quantities, prepare change orders, use computers, compose letters, prepare explanations for overruns and underruns, prepare comparison/summary reports, prepare a revised structure list and research project documentation.   The Inspector shall be Site Manager literate, be able to establish computerized project data files, refines project computer forms and programs.   The Inspector's duties shall be inclusive of, but not be limited to the above.
