Experience with the energy and power projects, especially renewables and other power generation permitting and transmission line siting and permitting, would likely be a project focus. Typical projects would include environmental permitting, NEPA compliance, facility siting, with public involvement. This person would be working closely with the staff in URS’ Phoenix environmental planning, GIS/IT, and cultural resources groups. URS also has vast resources within regional offices to support projects. The specific individuals would depend on the projects that were identified for this person. This position would be considered a senior role within the environmental planning group with primary responsibility for managing projects. Growth opportunities could include work on large and complex projects that enhance technical experience and build relationships throughout the industry, addition of a direct supervisory role within the environmental planning group, and/or an increased business development role within the office, region, or company.
