Job Title: Planner III Company: Bath Iron Works Location: Bath, ME Description: • Develop detail plans and schedules for the service trades supporting the construction and outfitting of various products in assembly and preoutfit required by BIW's shipbuilding programs.• Facilitate discussions during "Build Plan Reviews" with personnel from manufacturing, planning, design, to assist in service plan development.• Co-ordinate trailers in and out of doorways to accommodate major product moves and to support construction.• Monitor product move forecasts and communicate with the major move coordinator.• Ensure reference material and documentation is maintained.• Bachelor's Degree in Marine, Mechanical, Electrical (or related) Engineering: or equivalent combination of education and experience required. • Three years experience in a manufacturing environment required. • Thorough knowledge of ship construction.• Experience as a Production Supervisor, Trade Planner, Planner, Process Control Engineer or other equivalent experience• Strong analytical, organizational, communication, and planning skills• Ability to interpret design from prints and computer models• Competent in usage of PC software (Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)• Ability to work independently in a fast paced manufacturing environment with multi-task job functions• Ability to work in a team oriented environment
