Provide construction scheduling support services on a large water/wastewater Capital Improvement Program. This position will require the ability to analyze contractor developed construction baseline schedules and evaluation of monthly updates for logic, duration changes, constructability and work flow layout. Develop, establish, and maintain all aspects of the planning/scheduling effort on more than one large complex and demanding project. Incumbent will utilize his/her experience, expertise, and exposure to various types of projects and clients to support the program.
Provides guidance, direction, and specialized assistance for the resolution of difficult and complex project construction scheduling problems. Interfaces with clients, attends regular construction meetings, and provides statistical reports.
Provides project and company management with the necessary tools for project schedule control. May participate in the development of the work breakdown structure and interfacing with all affected departments.
May lead a team who are qualified to analyze, evaluate, and forecast project costs/schedule performance. Coordinates staffing requirements, assigns and supervises project work activities, and trains personnel as necessary. Completes performance reviews and provides personnel development for the assigned employees.
Accumulates and accesses historical data, such as performance experience, for use in maintaining a realistic basis for future planning and forecasting.
Qualified to analyze, evaluate, forecast, and report schedule status against an established baseline. Assesses the impact(s) of design/construction changes and schedule slippages. SKILLS/COMPETENCIES:
Requires basic engineering knowledge in electrical, mechanical, civil, or a related field. Leadership potential, as well as familiarity with industry practices is required.
