Analyzes material requirements planning (MRP) and maintains inventory at planned levels.   ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: ·         Supervise buyer/planners to ensure productivity and support for service demand and assign work duties as needed for project related tasks. Plan, schedule and monitor the movement of material through the service planning and purchasing cycles.·         Frequently interact with suppliers, customers, operations, and field service managers to coordinate activities related to materials management.·         Provide timely responses to MRP recommendations for materials assigned. Determine material requirements from service forecasts, repair and usage history, and refurbishment schedules. ·         Coordinate with Inventory Management to maintain inventory at planned levels. Maintain accurate lead times and due dates for purchased inventory and work orders.·         Follow up purchase orders to ensure shipment as required (expedites and reschedules) and negotiates schedule changes. ·         Monitor capability of suppliers to satisfy expectations of on-time delivery, quality, service, and price commitments. ·         Plan, schedule and monitors the movement of new materials through the development, prototype and production cycle.  Continually assess market conditions, which may affect procurement and recommend procurement, and materials management strategy changes. ·         Assist in negotiations of SAP outlying agreements and long-term purchase agreements covering procurement of single source items and major commodities.
