Job Title: Purchasing Agent / Buyer - Construction Materials and Supplies Company: Company Confidential Location: Elmont, NY Description: Responsibilities will include but not be limited to the following: Support engineers and estimators in preparations of estimates by contacting vendors for budgetary pricing for equipment and materials. Confers with vendors to obtain product or service information, such as price, availability, and delivery schedule. Order confirmations and correcting any discrepancies Estimates values according to knowledge of market price. Maintains manual or computerized procurement records, such as items or services purchased, costs, delivery, product quality or performance, and inventories Research and correct all shipping and/or invoice issues expeditiously Negotiate policies and terms with new and existing vendors Maintain current and accurate supplier data including pricing Process and maintain competitive pricing agreements with all suppliers Ensure materials and supplies that our construction projects require are available in order to maintain the projects schedule and budget. Requirements:Minimum 4 years experience in purchasing and dealing with suppliers.
