This position is a project specific position and will last approximately 30 months. To perform a variety of complex work involving the inspection of work quality and materials used in a variety of public works construction projects and subdivisions to ensure conformance with approved plans, specifications and departmental regulations; and to maintain records and prepare project inspection reports. EXAMPLES OF IMPORTANT AND ESSENTIAL DUTIES Performs engineering support duties for the construction phase of the Adams County Pecos Street project; Inspects contractor's work in progress to ensure compliance with contract specifications, documents and checks other's documentation and calculations for standardization; Assists in field measurements, and generates pay quantities for contractor's work based upon their field measurements; Inspects, tests, samples, and documents materials that are used in construction projects to ensure compliance with plans and specifications; Works on selecting, setting up, and operating standard test equipment; Assists in recording, extracting, and compiling test data; Assists in performing routine analysis to check applicability, accuracy, and reasonableness of data; Collects samples, performs tests, evaluates test results, and documents and distributes these results; Perform other related duties and responsibilities as required. REQUIREMENTS Experience - Two years of increasingly responsible engineering, construction, construction inspection or related experience. Training - Equivalent to the completion of the twelfth grade supplemented by college level course work in construction technology, construction engineering or a related field. License or Certificate- Possession of an appropriate, valid driver's license. Possession of, or ability to obtain certification as an ACI Transportation Construction Inspector or CRMCA Pavement Inspector.
