I. POSITION PURPOSE: Plans, develops, enhances and maintains a Quality Management System that provides continuous improvement to all products manufactured by the organization in order to meet or exceed customer specifications. II. MAJOR ACCOUNTABILITIES: • Manages time, money and resources available to efficiently respond to any requirement related to the quality of the system or product in a prioritized, quantifiable manner • Provides departmental and company leadership promoting the use of key management principles. Supervision of direct reports and others related to the quality department function • Assumes the responsibilities of the ISO Management Representative, monitoring and managing the Quality Management System (QMS). Facilitates the QMS Management Review meetings • Formulate and maintain quality objectives coordinated with the business, product and customer expectations in mind. These objectives will be reviewed periodically to ensure that the quality direction is in line with the company’s objectives • Plan, allocate and manage departmental budget to the Annual Operating Plan • Directs and facilitates the collection and analysis of data to quantitatively and statistically provide direction for quality activities • Works with appropriate manufacturing personnel and assigns appropriate quality personnel to resolve discrepancies and to plan for continuous improvement in the products and/or systems • Work with suppliers, quality representative sand company personnel to resolve discrepancies and to plan for continuous improvement in the products and/or systems • Assign appropriate quality personnel to assist Manufacturing and Design Engineering during pilot runs of prototype units to determine undocumented quality requirements and/or test procedures that should be added to the appropriate documents • Works with pertinent departments to exchange quality information necessary to promote continuous improvement of the products and/or systems • Communicate in the appropriate manner with the appropriate formats (i.e., documents, email, charts, etc.) as necessary to convey quality information to the required parties • Monitors data systems and determines direction necessary to improve the product and/or systems • Monitors the Corrective/Preventative action system and determines if system is effective to continuously improve the quality products and/or systems • Participates in meetings as required. Completes follow-up activities in a timely manner • Provides training to the appropriate people as required on product operations and/or important information that has been identified that requires a “need-to-know” status III. EDUCATION: Bachelor of Science Degree in a major field of science, engineering, or technology required. Quality Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Technology or equivalent required. IV. TRAINING & SPECIALIZED KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED: This position requires a person who possesses good interpersonal skills and demonstrates the ability to work with others efficiently and effectively either one-on-one, as a team, or in a group. He/she must possess a positive attitude with self-motivation. Must be able to communicate effectively with good verbal and writing skills, and have the ability to utilize problem solving skills and techniques to achieve problem resolution. Problem solving skills may include experience with Six Sigma, Lean Manufacturing/Kaizen Event, Problem Solving Disciplines (5D, 6D, 7D, 8D). Effective use of quality tools and techniques to assist in determining compliance to specifications, tends, capabilities, and opportunities for continuous improvement is required. Problem solving skills may include experience with: Statistical Process Control, Design of Experiments, and Process/Design Failure Mode Effects Analysis. Must have the ability to read and interpret blueprints applicable to the process. Must be knowledgeable of computer systems and pertinent software such as Outlook, Word, Excel, Access, Project and PowerPoint. Experience with specialized software such as MiniTab (SPC Software, Pro-E and mainframe systems are a plus. Direct involvement with ISO program developing, writing or enforcing procedures and work instructions. V. EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: 7 to 10 years’ relevant experience in manufacturing and production processes required. Direct experience with a quality function and/or quality related responsibilities. Prefer experience in the automotive or agricultural equipment manufacturing industries. Direct experience in team facilitation, and group leadership required. A well respected and growing design-build firm based in Colorado is seeking a Construction Quality Control Manager to perform quality control responsibilities at Fort Leonard Wood Base in Missouri. We provide full Architectural Engineering, and Construction Services. Currently we have field offices in Missouri, Kansas, Iowa, and Nevada in addition to Colorado. The Construction Quality Control Manager will be responsible for ensuring that the construction, to include subcontractors and suppliers, complies with the requirements of the contract as well as other quality control duties. Coordinate as required with onsite Project Coordinators, Superintendents, Field Personnel and interfacing with clients. Duties and Responsibilities: ?Attend meetings as required to ensure project goals are met. ?Communicate effectively with designers, subcontractors, construction staff, and clients. ?Manage client and future client interactions and relations. ?Certify that all submittals and deliverables are in compliance with the contract requirements. ?Thorough understanding of interpreting specifications and contract drawings. ?Assure that all materials and/or equipment have been tested, submitted and approved. ?Physical examination of required materials and equipment to ensure they conform to approved shop drawings or submitted data, and are properly stored. Experience and Education: ?Graduate engineer, graduate architect, graduate of construction management, or an engineering technician with ICC certification as a Commercial Building Inspector. ?5+ year?s commercial construction experience in Construction Quality Control procedures. ?Design-build experience preferred. ?Federal work experience preferred. ?Quality Control Management (CQM) Federal Government experience preferred. ?Proficiency in MS Word/Excel/PowerPoint required.
