Long-term clients keep coming back because of our quality service and outstanding people.  We're continuing to grow and are looking for staff with technical and leadership skills that can help lead us into the future. Construction Inspector ILehi, Utah Under direction, inspects and oversees construction inspection activities to ensure compliance with project plans, approved shop/working drawings, project documents and specifications reporting observations orally and in writing to direct report.  Work requires application of engineering principles.Inspect construction activities in accordance with established quality procedures and evaluate compliance with project plans, specifications, shop drawings and other project related documents. Prepare and submit accurate, legible, comprehensive and complete testing and/or inspection reports on a daily basis in accordance with established quality procedures. Review plans, specifications, general notes and shop/working drawings for assigned activities prior to performing assigned duties. Perform, supervise, report on frequency compliance and coordinate field tests on materials and completed work using standard methods established by AASHTO, ASTM or other agency with appropriate, properly calibrated testing equipment. Graduation from high school or GED certification.  A person in this position generally, but not necessarily has a minimum of 15 years experience in roadway, and related facilities, construction inspection or NICET Level IV certification in Transportation Engineering Technology (Highway Construction).  Related experience and/or education may be evaluated to substitute for on the job experience.Shall possess valid Class D Utah driver’s license and meet firm’s auto insurability requirements.The following certifications and training are preferred:·         Completion of Troxler Manufacturing or equal radiation safety course to utilize nuclear gauges.·         Completion of Technician Transportation Qualification Program (TTQP) from UDOT for applicable testing/sampling procedures, or ability to complete within 6 months of employment.·         ACI Field Testing Technician Level 1 Successful applicants without the above certifications or training may be required to pursue successful attainment of the certifications.  Related experience may be substituted with the approval of the client.Raba-Kistner recognizes that our employees are our most valuable asset and their efforts make us successful. RESPONSIBILITIES: Maintain accurate and up to date acceptance and rejection records and or certifications systems as required by the applicable specifications. Determine acceptance or rejection after inspection and or calibration of parts, tools, instruments or x-ray film. Identify defective conditions and test failures and prepare all appropriate documentation and or calibration history. INSPECTION: Perform inspection on complex parts using a wide variety of measuring and test equipment. Adapt and develop complex inspection set ups to check sample parts, forgings and castings. Check tool and jig layouts. Perform first article and envelope inspections, source inspections and or complex surface plate set ups. Interpret specifications, charts, manuals and other data to arrive at acceptance or rejection. Recommend changes to supervision. Use mathematics to convert blueprint dimension and tolerances. Set up calibration test conditions having various circuit requirements interpreting calibration procedures, specifications, manufacturer’s instructions, or related documents. Ability to interpret drawings and electronic schematics. Document and evaluate historical data to determine calibration intervals. Diagnose and calibrate newly acquired complex electronic equipment. NONDESTRUCTIVE TEST: Perform daily weekly and monthly equipment and material checks. Perform pre-inspection and post-inspection cleaning.
