Description:
The Director of Business role is a high level leader in the Operations
of the Maryland office and is responsible for driving sales, profits,
personnel and client satisfaction. The Director of Business is
responsible for the management of operations, business development
and technical production that markets and services cost management
and owner representative services.
Responsibilities include office
administration; production staff management; business development
activities; client management and the oversight of production of cost estimates and owner representative assignments. Provide leadership and mentoring to staff by actively managing revenue, expenses, clients and projects.
Responsible for overall bottom-line office performance.
Accountable for the leadership and management of the office
operations, technical production and marketing personnel. Lead,
guide, and monitor all personnel activities to ensure adherence to quality, accuracy and contractual requirements. Business
Development and Revenue Generation sell cost management /
estimating / owners representative services to Architects, Engineers
and Owners. Be available to assist Senior Marketing Coordinators
with technical assistance on client contacts/visits. Client
Maintenance maintain client contact during and after projects to
maintain a strong relationship. Coordinate with Business
Development and Marketing Department in regards to business
development by attending interviews, client meetings, presentations,
etc. Provide professional oversight and management on cost
estimating and owner representative projects.
BS in Engineering, Construction, or Architecture, Marketing and ten
plus (10+) years experience in the construction industry, five (5) of
which has been in a management position.
Demonstrated knowledge
of technologies and systems related to Project Management, Cost
Management and Cost Estimating services.
Successful track record of bottom-line responsibility and
accountability. Ability to secure profitable work.
Proven entrepreneurial success and strong operations leadership
experience.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills, executive presence,
and ability to build meaningful relationships with all levels of clients
and internal staff and management.
Superb client development and project management skills and
experience.
Ability to monitor cost management and owner representative
services on multi-million dollar construction projects.
Technical knowledge of construction methods, building systems, and
terminology.
Possess leadership qualities of can-do-will do attitude, actions, and
that results now come through others - focus is teamwork.
Excellent analytical skills, with the ability to read, interpret and
develop statistical reports and calculations.
Organized, multi-tasker, detail-oriented, team friendly, deadline-
oriented, works well under pressure and is able to manage a variety of
projects in a fast paced environment.
Working knowledge of computer applications, including MS Word,
Excel, Powerpoint, MS Project, Primavera, Deltek Vision, Success
and MII.
A SECRET security clearance or the ability to obtain a security
clearance
U.S. citizen.
