Hard Tile Setter Jobs in Kansas

Install hard tile on walls, floors, and other surfaces. Hard tile setters must first prepare the surface on which they will fix the tile by cleaning and leveling it. They then read the design plans to determine how to measure and cut the tiles so they fit customer expectations. Before arranging the tiles, however, the setter must prepare mortar and spread it across the base surface so the tiles will adhere and set properly.

Hard tile setters use a wide range of tools. For example, power wet saws, tile scribes, and hand-held cutters are used for cutting tiles, while trowels of various sizes are used to spread mortar. They also depend on spacers, which are placed between tiles until the mortar dries to ensure that the gaps between them are all the same size.

Time Management Tips for Job Seekers

Finding a great job in today’s market can turn into a full-time position in itself, but you don’t have to dedicate 40+ hours per week to your search in order to be successful. The adage “work smarter, not harder” applies to a job search as well. A key to working smarter is effective time management, whether you are unemployed with ample time on your hands or currently employed and need to be more strategic with your free hours.

With so much of the application process taking place online these days, job seekers are finding themselves needing more than just a Word version of their resume. While some employers prefer a Word document, others may request a PDF or plain text file, attached or copied/pasted into an email or uploaded to their database.
