Position Overview:
We are seeking a skilled Construction Take-Off Estimator with 3–7 years of experience to join our team. The ideal candidate has a solid background in estimating and material quantity take-offs for both commercial and residential construction projects. This role supports the estimating team by preparing detailed and accurate take-offs, collaborating with the Senior Estimator, and helping to ensure competitive and comprehensive bids.
Key Responsibilities:
Prepare accurate quantity take-offs and cost estimates for various construction scopes (architectural, structural, civil, etc.)
Review and interpret architectural and engineering drawings, project specifications, and other documentation to prepare material and labor estimates
Assist in developing project budgets and bid proposals
Coordinate with subcontractors and suppliers to gather pricing and clarify scope
Work closely with the Senior Estimator and project teams to ensure estimates align with project goals and requirements
Maintain and update historical cost data and unit pricing for estimating purposes
Support value engineering efforts and identify cost-saving opportunities
Participate in bid reviews and post-bid analysis
Qualifications:
3–7 years of experience in construction estimating and quantity take-offs (commercial and residential projects)
Strong knowledge of construction means, methods, and materials
Proficient in estimating software such as Bluebeam, Building Connected, ProEst, Autodesk or similar
Familiarity with Microsoft Excel and other standard office software
Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications
Strong communication and teamwork skills
Preferred Qualifications:
Associates or Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field (preferred but not required)
Experience with local subcontractor and supplier networks
Familiarity with prevailing wage and public bidding processes (a plus)
