Construction Take Off Estimator

Position Overview:

We are seeking a skilled Construction Take-Off Estimator with 3–7 years of experience to join our team. The ideal candidate has a solid background in estimating and material quantity take-offs for both commercial and residential construction projects. This role supports the estimating team by preparing detailed and accurate take-offs, collaborating with the Senior Estimator, and helping to ensure competitive and comprehensive bids.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare accurate quantity take-offs and cost estimates for various construction scopes (architectural, structural, civil, etc.)

  • Review and interpret architectural and engineering drawings, project specifications, and other documentation to prepare material and labor estimates

  • Assist in developing project budgets and bid proposals

  • Coordinate with subcontractors and suppliers to gather pricing and clarify scope

  • Work closely with the Senior Estimator and project teams to ensure estimates align with project goals and requirements

  • Maintain and update historical cost data and unit pricing for estimating purposes

  • Support value engineering efforts and identify cost-saving opportunities

  • Participate in bid reviews and post-bid analysis

Qualifications:

  • 3–7 years of experience in construction estimating and quantity take-offs (commercial and residential projects)

  • Strong knowledge of construction means, methods, and materials

  • Proficient in estimating software such as Bluebeam, Building Connected, ProEst, Autodesk or similar

  • Familiarity with Microsoft Excel and other standard office software

  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills

  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications

  • Strong communication and teamwork skills

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Associates or Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field (preferred but not required)

  • Experience with local subcontractor and supplier networks

  • Familiarity with prevailing wage and public bidding processes (a plus)
