Operator Heavy Equipment

We are searching for a skilled Heavy Equipment Operator that has experience in operating a variety of our Equipment which includes but not limited to: Dozer, Excavator, Loader, Blade...etc.). The Heavy Equipment Operator's duties include preparing and manipulating heavy equipment to ensure the appropriate movement of materials, and liaising with coworkers to ensure that the projects are completed accurately. You will be required to conduct your duties in a safe, diligent manner at all times.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience operating heavy equipment including backhoes, loaders, excavators, rollers, brooms, scrapers, pavers, dozers, and motor graders
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to follow directions and work as part of a team
  • Must be reliable, show up on time, and willing to work overtime and night shifts when needed
  • Must be at least 18 years old due to job site safety requirements
  • Willing to travel and work out of town when the project requires it
  • Must be able to pass pre-employment and random drug testing
  • Capable of working outdoors in all types of weather (heat, rain, cold)
  • Must wear required PPE at all times—hard hat, safety glasses, and steel-toe boots
  • Physical ability to perform labor-intensive tasks including lifting over 50 lbs, kneeling, bending, crouching, standing for long periods, and climbing
  • Flexible schedule with availability for extended hours if necessary

Responsibilities

  • Operate equipment safely and with full awareness of surroundings at all times
  • Complete daily pre-use equipment inspections and report any mechanical issues
  • Grease and maintain equipment daily using the provided grease gun
  • Track machine hours and coordinate with supervisor for scheduled maintenance
  • Confirm job specs such as grades, slopes, and clearances according to plans or drawings
  • Perform tasks in all types of weather and jobsite conditions
  • Frequently use hands, feet, and body to operate controls and assist with ground work
  • Be ready to step off the machine and help with manual labor when needed
