PAE is looking for qualified Generator Mechanics to support the US embassies in Moscow, Russia and Beijing, China. The selected candidate will report to the Facilities Maintenance Supervisor. The responsibilities and duties listed below are not necessarily inclusive.
Maintains and repairs all stationary diesel engines for fire system pumps and emergency power generators ranging from 25 KW to 500 KW. Scope of work to include repair of major diesel engine-subsystems which are not in violation of existing State Department contracts for such repairs. Repairs to be at such standard to perform in climatic extremes.
Plans and schedules preventive and corrective maintenance for the equipment listed under specific responsibilities in accordance with established operational and maintenance procedures and manufacture’s recommendations and warranty.
Tests all work performed under his/her control. In the case of the diesel prime movers of the emergency power generator sets, testing is to be conducted in the presence of two persons designated as qualified back-up personnel.
Corrects defects by adjustments, cleaning, repair, and replacement of defective items and components.
Travels as necessary to constituent posts to perform generator maintenance.
Maintains small engines (lawnmowers, tractors) and hydraulic systems (snow removal equipment, forklifts).
Operates all necessary hand, power, and shop tools.
Orders replacement parts and supplies through approved channels and establishing maximum and minimum requirements for effective utilization and economy.
Maintains shop and maintenance areas in a clean and safe condition.
Maintains appropriate technical library and record keeping which documents all procedures necessary to accomplish his/her responsibilities.
Performs other duties as required.
Certification as Diesel Powered Electrical Power Generator Technician with a rating up to 750 KW
3 or more years’ experience in the power generation of large buildings
