Job Description

This position is responsible for managing and directing the activities of reclaimed asphalt operations including but are not limited to production, maintenance, quality control, service and repair equipment at various sites in the Texas market. The Asphalt Operations Manager will implement the production strategy for facilities to meet or exceed operation, production, capital and cost reduction goals and objectives. Manager is responsible for promoting all safety, Health and Environmental policies, quality assurance and regulatory compliance programs required by management, local state and federal laws. Asphalt Operations Manager will assure that assigned crews are in compliance with Sustainable Pavement Technologies, OSHA regulations and other regulatory agencies. This manager will also supervise the division’s salaried and hourly workforce.

 

Qualifications

Education:

BS / BA degree, Associates degree, or an equivalent combination of training and work experience preferred.

Experience:

  • Minimum of 15 years prior work experience in an asphalt plant and a minimum of 5 years supervisory experience.
  • Experience in the management of multiple sites is a plus.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Knowledge and understanding of modern principles and practices of managing production employees
  • Thorough working knowledge of asphalt plant operation and RAP crushing/screening management.
  • Knowledge of safety and environmental rules and regulations (OSHA).
  • Knowledge and understanding of business planning and financial forecasting requirements.
  • Excellent management, leadership, communication, organization, conflict and problem resolution skills.
  • Servant leadership style, willing to get dirty and show employees proper methods and best practices
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, Google, and other software packages relevant to the position.
  • Ability to plan and manage effectively using motivation and team building skills.
  • Good organizational management skills
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and practices.
  • Flexible to work long hours and travel when needed.
  • Must represent Sustainable Pavement Technologies in a professional manner to all customers, vendors, employees, and fellow managers.
