Must have significant experience with various mechanical, hydraulic and electrical systems associated heavy equipment. Must be willing and able to work indoors, outdoors and on job sites. Primary responsibilities will include service and repair work on our fleet of misc. heavy equipment including dozers, excavators, graders, rollers, loaders, skid loaders Must be able to complete paperwork in a professional and timely manner. Must work well with other mechanics, supervisors, operators and customers. Must be adaptable and eager to learn new systems. Safety is essential.
Troubleshoot, replace, and repair equipment such as tractor trucks, excavators, dozers, cranes, graders, generators, etc. so that equipment is kept in operational condition; Perform preventive maintenance tests on equipment; troubleshooting equipment for hydraulic, mechanical, and electrical problems; and perform body modifications and repair work to mechanical equipment.
Maintain and repair light, medium, and heavy equipment so that down time is minimized and equipment is available when needed by repairing and overhauling engines, cooling system, heating and air conditioning systems, air, and hydraulic systems and electronically operated brakes and other equipment, transmission and drive train systems, and electrical monitoring systems on equipment.
Diagnose faults or malfunctions using computerized and other testing equipment to determine the extent of repair required; repair and/or fabricate parts so that equipment is operational when needed by fabricating, modifying, and installing special equipment.
Testing repaired equipment for proper performance and to ensure that work meets manufacturers’ specifications; Clean, lubricate and perform other routine maintenance work on equipment; Routine maintenance on light duty trucks; small tool repair.
