Job Description



Supervises and monitors the work of his crew to ensure that the daily tasks are well carried out in the construction, maintenance, and/or repair of roads, bridges, tunnels, storm drains, etc.  Follows project blue prints, specifications, and work schedules, in order to meet production goals; making sure that the crew follows all health, safety, and environmental requirements


Fundamental Job Duties


  • Follow all health, safety & environmental requirements

  • Enforcement of health, safety, & environmental requirements

  • Plan / schedule & communicate work requirements

  • Blue prints, specifications, procedures, work schedules, and standards

  • Crew balance, makes assignments with capabilities of crew members in mind

  • Be familiar with work area

  • Oversight of quality control and crew productivity

  • Have good working relationship with other crafts

  • Plan effective use of personnel, material, and equipment

  • Responsible for recording daily / weekly crew work hours

  • Address job related crew issues

  • Motivate crew members

  • Develop pride in crew and self

  • Knowledge of craft(s) being supervised

  • Track crew assistance

  • Resource control and cost awareness




  • GED or HSED

  • Minimum age:18

  • Pre-Employment Drug Screen

  • Certification required

  • Union membership
