Job Description

The BIM Virtual Design Modeler/Detailer works directly with project team to assist the project’s delivery throughout design and construction utilizing Building Information Modeling. This position is responsible for planning, executing, and closing out of BIM deliverables at the project specific level.

  • Develop and execute Project Specific BIM plans
  • Manage BIM process on specific projects throughout preconstruction and construction
  • Develop, and maintain 3D models for specific projects for use during preconstruction, fabrication and construction
  • Evaluate models provided by Design Team and modify for internal use in Estimating and Construction Operations. 
  • Create models to support Estimating
  • Prepare take-off reports
  • Generate 3D/4D fabrication drawings
  • Prepare Virtual mockups
  • Create Presentation material/ visual aids
  • Provide models to support fabrication and Construction Operations

Education - Skills - Knowledge - Qualifications & Experience:

  • Bachelor degree in Engineering, Architecture or Construction (preferred, but not necessary)
  • Strong knowledge of metal framing
  • 3-10 years of experience in the construction industry with minimum 1 year direct BIM/VDC responsibilities preferred
  • Proficiency with Autodesk Revit Suite, Navisworks, AutoCAD is required
  • Knowledge of Windows, and Microsoft Office is required
  • Experience with Tekla, QTO, Solibi, Synchro, 3DS Max, & Inventor is a plus
  • Strong written and verbal communications skills
  • Ability to use time productively, maximize efficiency, and meet challenging work goals
  • Ability to work well as a part of a team and independently
