Job Title: Construction Estimator
Job Type: Full-time (Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM)
Travel: 30-40%
POSITION SUMMARY
The Construction Estimator is responsible for preparing accurate and competitive cost estimates for construction projects. This role requires a strong understanding of construction methods, materials, labor costs, and scheduling. The Estimator works closely with project managers, engineers, architects, and vendors to gather data, analyze project requirements, and produce detailed estimates that support bidding and budgeting processes.
Essential Functions Statement(s)
- Review project plans, specifications, and other documents to prepare estimates.
- Quantify materials, labor, and equipment requirements.
- Solicit and evaluate subcontractor and supplier quotes.
- Prepare detailed cost breakdowns and bid proposals.
- Collaborate with project teams to ensure estimates align with project goals.
- Identify and assess cost risks and opportunities.
- Maintain historical cost data for future reference.
- Attend pre-bid meetings and site visits when required.
- Assist in value engineering and cost-saving strategies.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
SKILLS & ABILITIES
Education: Bachelor's degree in construction management, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
Experience: Minimum 3-5 years of experience in construction estimating.
Computer Skills: Proficient in estimating software (e.g., Bluebeam, Plan Swift, Sage Estimating) and Microsoft Excel
