POSITION OVERVIEW:
Seeking an experienced and driven Asphalt Foreman to lead a high-performing crew in the field. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, technical know-how, and a commitment to excellence in paving operations.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Provide strong, respectful leadership to field crews, fostering a culture of safety, efficiency, and accountability.
Assign daily tasks based on scope of work and individual crew strengths.
Enforce team responsibility for punctuality, equipment maintenance, and jobsite readiness.
Estimate required asphalt and aggregate volumes based on site-specific plans.
Schedule timely deliveries to avoid downtime and ensure proper material temperatures for application.
Lead jobsite safety meetings, team huddles, and on-site coaching sessions.
Monitor and document daily crew activities including hours worked, material usage, and production progress.
Mediate conflicts and promote high morale and productivity among team members.
Liaise with material suppliers to confirm order quantities and any delivery specifications.
Coordinate logistics, manpower, and resource allocation to meet deadlines.
QUALIFICATIONS:
5-10 years of hands-on experience in asphalt and paving operations, with at least 2-3 years in a supervisory or foreman role.
Deep understanding of paving materials, application processes, and heavy equipment operation.
Proficient in reading and interpreting job specs, drawings, and technical documentation.
Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills.
Demonstrated commitment to safety and jobsite compliance.
Physically able to manage the demands of prolonged outdoor work.
Willingness to work extended hours, including occasional nights and weekends.
Valid chauffeur s license required; CDL-A strongly preferred.
