Construction Inspector Job Summary

We are seeking a detail-oriented and knowledgeable Construction Inspector to perform both routine and complex inspections of construction projects. This role ensures that all work complies with approved plans, specifications, and special provisions. The ideal candidate will be proficient in using advanced inspection tools, interpreting construction drawings, and performing technical calculations. Depending on the assignment, the inspector may work independently or under supervision.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct thorough inspections of construction projects, including both standard and complex tasks.
  • Verify the use of appropriate materials and construction methods.
  • Ensure compliance with project plans, specifications, and regulatory requirements.
  • Operate advanced inspection equipment and perform technical calculations.
  • Review and interpret construction drawings to prepare for inspections.
  • Understand and evaluate construction designs and methodologies.
  • Accurately document inspection findings and communicate results to supervisors.
  • Adapt to varying levels of supervision based on project complexity and personal expertise.
Essential Skills & Qualifications
  • Proven experience in construction and construction inspection for DOT Projects.
  • Degree in related field is preferred but not required (if relevant experience).
  • Strong understanding of civil engineering principles.
  • Ability to perform and verify complex calculations.
  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting construction drawings and specifications.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $28.00 - $45.00/hr.
