Lead or Senior HVAC Mechanical Engineer

Kforce has a client that is seeking a Lead or Senior HVAC Mechanical Engineer in Pasadena, CA.

Responsibilities:

• Lead project planning, coordination, and execution with minimal oversight
• Independently manage conceptual design to construction drawing development for multiple small and medium-sized projects
• Develop designs compliant with Building Codes, Energy Codes, and LEED standards
• Handle HVAC calculations, design, and layout of equipment, duct, and piping systems
• Demonstrate strong understanding of psychrometrics, refrigeration, acoustics, and control systems
• Engage engineering applications and/or managers in project decisions
• Proactively communicate and coordinate with Project Management, Construction, Service departments, Controls, and trade partners
• Conduct economic and energy analyses
• Assist with field engineering tasks such as project execution, trade coordination, scheduling, document management, and troubleshooting
• Ensure quality of design drawings and models
• Communicate effectively and professionally with colleagues and project team members
• Manage time to meet project schedules and deadlines
• Oversee design team members as requested by the Manager
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Manager* Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Construction Management
• Professional Engineer license is highly desirable but not mandatory
• Over three years of experience with a Design/Build Mechanical Contractor or as a consultant
• Comprehensive understanding of systems and applications
• Excellent knowledge of Building Codes and industry standards
• Strong grasp of engineering and design fundamentals
• Proficient in AutoCAD and Revit
