The Town of Eagle is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Project Engineer to support our growing community through the review, design, and construction of vital infrastructure projects. This position is ideal for both early-career engineers ready to build experience and licensed professionals eager to take on more responsibility.

About the Role

As a Project Engineer, youll play a key role in designing and reviewing public infrastructure and private development projects, managing capital improvements, and working closely with internal teams, developers, and the public. Youll work under the direction of the Town Engineer and contribute to creating a resilient, well-planned community.

Hiring Range: $69,600 - $115,400

Key Responsibilities:

  • Review subdivision and development permit applications.
  • Coordinate with Town staff, consultants, and elected officials on development reviews.
  • Design and prepare construction drawings and estimates for capital projects.
  • Oversee bidding and construction administration of public infrastructure.
  • Inspect and coordinate development-related construction activities.
  • Assist with long-range planning and capital improvement budgeting.
  • Respond to public inquiries regarding traffic, drainage, and infrastructure.

Engineer I Requirements:

  • Bachelors degree in civil engineering.
  • Enrolled as an Engineer Intern (EI) in Colorado.
  • Valid Colorado drivers license and satisfactory driving record

Engineer II Requirements:

  • Bachelors degree in civil engineering.
  • Minimum 4 years of progressive engineering experience.
  • Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) in Colorado (or able to obtain within 1 year).
  • Valid Colorado drivers license and satisfactory driving record

Preferred Knowledge & Skills:

  • Proficiency with AutoCAD Civil 3D, ArcGIS, and engineering software.
  • Understanding of MUTCD, AASHTO, and CDOT standards.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Experience with capital improvement projects and development review.
  • Knowledge of traffic engineering, surveying, and construction management.
