Mechanic Welder II

FLSmidth is currently seeking Mechanic Welder II's to help service accounts across the country. This will be a full time, permanent position including paid training along with an extensive benefit package. EMPLOYEE MUST HAVE A VALID DRIVERS LICENSE. YOU WILL BE TRAVELING AROUND THE COUNTRY WITH THE POTENTIAL OF TRAVELING INTERNATIONALLY! Duties include but not limited to: Grinding -- hand grind seams, edges and surface clean-up for weld prep. Welding -- inner shield, stick, and sub-arc primarily carbon and stainless steel plate. Gouging -- welding seams and removing hardware. Cutting -- steel parts with oxy-acetylene torch. Air chisel and jack hammer operation. Carrying/lifting tools, equipment and parts. Forklift, aerial lift, and crane operation. Working Conditions: General heavy construction environment. Typical 12-hour shifts, 7 days/week. Extensive travel to customer sites throughout US, and occasionally outside US. Work environment includes hot and cold weather. Working at heights and confined spaces. Some sites require special PPE such as respirators. Responsibilities: To complete assigned duties in a safe and efficient manner. To keep the work area clean and organized. To maintain equipment as may be needed. To maintain up to date contact information in order to be reached for work. To report any unsafe equipment or conditions to the immediate supervisor. Standards of Performance: Maintain a current certificate status in safety and craft training. Perform accurate and thorough work for quality results. Follow instructions, rules, and regulations. Effective and efficient use of time. Positive attitude to the job, fellow employees, and the customers. Pay starts around 16.50/hr with an extensive benefits package.
