Their duties and responsibilities include: Removing old roofing materials, and repairing underlying roof structures as necessary Applying roofing materials such as tar, asphalt, elastomeric, and single ply systems to roofs Installing vapor barriers or layers of insulation on the roof decks Aligning roofing materials with edges of the roof and securing with nails, adhesive, or staples Installing, repairing, or replacing commercial roofing systems, including flat, steep-slope, and complex roof structures Following safety procedures, including the use of protective clothing and equipment Maintaining roofing tools and equipment, and cleaning job sites after work is completed Communicating with clients, team members, and supervisors about job progress and issues Hourly pay $19.00 to $31.00 based on experience 40 hour work week with opportunity of over time
