Summary**

The Lead Mechanical Engineer - Condensate and Feedwater System is a cross-functional engineering discipline centered on an approach, mindset, and process. All activities that consider both the business and the technical needs of the customers with the goal of providing a quality product that meets the users needs. The discipline that executes a robust process of design, creation, and optimization of systems, consisting of identification and quantification of system requirements, creation of alternate system design concepts, performance of design trade studies, selection and implementation of the best designs and verification that the design is properly integrated and executed. Process that proceeds from concept to production to operation.

Responsible for systems engineering activities that support:

BWRX-300 Small Modular Reactor (SMR) Design.

**Job Description**

**Essential Responsibilities:**

+ Perform system design activities including system design specifications, piping and instrument diagrams (P&IDs), logic diagrams, process flow calculations and diagrams, hydraulic resistance calculations, equipment sizing, FMEA evaluations, and thermodynamic and heat/fluid flow transfer.

+ Develop and maintain component specifications for long lead components such as the Feedwater Heaters.

+ Coordinate design activities and review supplier deliverables for long components.

+ Responsible for analysis and design work supporting system requirements and specifications.

+ Conducts component and product integration. All activities that span multiple components and products and are concerned with how to integrate for maximum performance and operability.

+ Manages product and systems requirements, specifications, and flow down.

+ Drives validation and verification activities for the overall product/system, including system level testing.

+ Responsible for defining product requirements for the module / component / subcontractors and partners teams.

+ Manages interface between components and execution organizations. Manages the overall product configuration and configuration control system.

+ Broadening knowledge of own technical discipline to execute policy/strategy. May include support roles with specialized technical field of knowledge; still acquiring higher level knowledge and skills.

+ Basic understanding of key business drivers; uses this understanding to accomplish own work. Good understanding of how work of own team integrates with other teams and contributes to the area.

+ May have some autonomy to make decisions within a defined framework. Resolves issues in situations that require good technical knowledge and judgment within established procedures. Consults more senior team members for issues outside of defined instructions/parameters.

+ A job at this level requires good interpersonal skills and may be required to lead a junior team. For customer facing roles, develops strong customer relationships and serves as the interface between customer and GE. Explains technical information to others.

**Required Qualifications**

+ Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Nuclear Engineering, or other relevant Engineering degree from an accredited university or college.

+ Minimum of 6 years of experience in an Engineering role (including Naval Nuclear experience).

+ Minimum of 4 years of mechanical systems experience.

**Eligibility Requirements:**

+ For the United States the preferred work location for this role is at the GE Vernova Nuclear Energy Headquarters in Wilmington, NC; but highly qualified (US based) remote candidates will be considered.

+ Willing to travel up to 15% domestic and international (If remote travel would increase up to 30%)

+ This role requires access to U.S. export-controlled information. If applicable, final offers will be contingent on ability to obtain authorization for access to U.S. export-controlled information from the U.S. Government.

+ For Canada this role requires working two days a week onsite in the Markham Ontario office.

**Desired Characteristics**

+ Strong Leadership skills.

+ Professional Engineering Certification or willingness to obtain P.E Certification

+ Knowledge of working within a regulated environment (nuclear).

+ Knowledge of quality standards and systems (e.g., NQA-1 and ISO 9000).

+ Experience and/or interest in nuclear power industry.

+ Ability to work to tight deadlines and cope under pressure.

**For the United States**

The base pay range for this position is $98,000,000 to $140,000. The specific pay offered may be influenced by a variety of factors, including the candidate's experience, education, and skill set. This position is also eligible for bonuses, such as a performance bonus/variable incentive compensation/equity. This position is expected to close on Friday August 1st

The company pays a geographic differential of 110%, 120%, or 130% of salary in certain areas.
