Engineering Project Management Support Specialist
Type of Position:
This position will begin as a 12-month contract, with strong potential for long-term employment. While the contract is initially set for 12 months, there is no fixed end date, and extensions beyond the initial term are possible. Conversion to a direct hire role may occur as early as 3 months, depending on individual performance and business needs. Although direct hire is not guaranteed, it is a common outcome for high-performing team members, and most contractors in this role do transition to permanent positions over time.
Candidate Requirements:
This role is with a major defense contractor. While a security clearance is not required for this position, candidates must still meet eligibility criteria for work on federal contracts. U.S. Citizenship or Permanent Residency (Green Card) is required. Candidates on CPT, OPT, H-1B, or TN visas are not eligible. This company is not open to corp-to-corp (C2C) or corp-to-hire (C2H) arrangements. Offers may be contingent upon successful completion of a background check and drug screen (including testing for cannabis).

Fridley, MN (on site role)
Compensation:
$70.00/hr to $75.00/hr to start (depending on experience). Overtime paid at 1.5x over 40 hours.
Benefits:
- Available (health insurance, dental, vision, 401k, etc) benefit eligibility will begin the 1st of the month after 30 days of employment.
- This role will have 7 paid holidays and 10 days PTO (PTO accrues over time). In going direct hire, there will be significantly more PTO.

HRU Technical Resources is partnering with a leading defense contractor to hire an Engineering Project Management Support Specialist. Key Responsibilities:
- Lead project planning, including scheduling, resource allocation, and budgeting
- Manage control accounts, maintaining earned value measures
- Track and report project progress, identifying and escalating issues or concerns
- Coordinate communication among team members, stakeholders, and external partners
- Provide guidance and support to project teams on Control Account Management (CAM) activities, including variance analysis and corrective actions
- Assist with project documentation, such as meeting minutes, action items, and project status reports
- Develop and maintain project management tools and templates for efficient project delivery
- Collaborate with other departments to support effective project execution
Skills, Education, Experience Required:
- Bachelors degree in business administration, engineering, project management, or a related field required. Bachelors Degree of some type is required.
- 8+ years of experience in project management, control account management, or a related field within a product development environment
- Proven experience in leading and directing large-scale projects, with a focus on CAM, earned value management, and project performance
- Familiarity with project management software and tools, including MS Project, PM Compass, or OpenPlan
- Strong knowledge of project management principles, including project scheduling and earned value management
- Analytical, problem-solving, and leadership abilities with aptitude for analyzing complex data and identifying trends
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and coaching skills; comfortable working with senior leadership, engineering managers, and teams
- Proficiency in data analysis and reporting tools, such as Microsoft Excel
Skills, Education, Experience Preferred:
- Experience in the defense industry
- Project management certification
Work Environment:
- This role follows a 9/80 schedule, which means you'll work nine hours per day Monday through Thursday, and alternate between working an eight-hour Friday and having the next Friday off. Our standard hours are 8:00 AM to 6:00 PM on the nine-hour days and 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM on the Friday that's worked. All of this includes a one-hour unpaid lunch break each day.
- There may be occasional overtime in this role. Any OT will be paid at 1.5x.
