This is work performing high level skilled trades repairs/alteration on campus
building and/or performing routine maintenance on campus buildings and equipment. .
Job Functions
Coordinates and or performs plumbing, heating, air conditioning, electrical, carpentry and painting in campus buildings, grounds and varied mechanical equipment and machinery; performs work in single and or multiple trades that require skilled installation of trade specific parts and devices; provides guidance and leadership of maintenance mechanics in absence of higher level supervision; assists or directs inventory and requisition of materials and supplies; utilize or directs use of trade specific Personal Protective Equipment (PPE); assists or performs the coordination and completion of preventive maintenance work orders, practices, employs or consults on campus energy conservation initiatives; maintains a variety of records; utilize campus maintenance management system and electronic devices when responding to or performing assigned work
Tier 2 respondent for designated campus emergencies and events. In the event of a declared campus emergency, the position incumbent will make every effort to return to campus when directed.
Marginal Functions
Assists other trades as needed; support special events; respond to campus emergencies; assist with or coordinate new utilities and equipment installations; parts ordering and pick up from vendors, keeping assigned shop area neat and clean; performance of other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications: Completion of an approved apprenticeship program for multiple trades or a high school diploma and 6 years of experience directly related to job function. Directly related college coursework or vocational/technical training may substitute at an equivalent rate for the required experience.
