Maintenance Mechanic

Position Summary
The Maintenance Mechanic I is a motivated self-starter who is disciplined, reliable and hard working. A focused, active, problem-solver, this individual combines a good technical and learning aptitude with perseverance, determination, and a willingness to put in the hours necessary to help achieve operational goals.
Key Responsibilities:
Diagnoses, troubleshooting, and corrective action/repair of industrial machinery and equipment preventing costly downtime in the following areas
Mechanical
Electrical
Pneumatic
Hydraulics
Perform basic to advanced level preventative maintenance tasks on equipment and machinery
Support installation and setup of new industrial machines and production systems
Coordinate with machine operators and production supervisors to schedule repairs and maintenance with minimal disruption
Repairs to facilities such as lighting systems, basic HVAC, plumbing lines/drainage systems
Use computerized maintenance management system to log work orders, and track asset history
Other duties as assigned
Other Requirements:
- Positive attitude and ability to interact with coworkers and vendors in a positive and productive fashion
- Minimum 2 years of maintenance technician experience
- Understanding of bearings and power transmission equipment
- Understanding of all classes of AC/DC motors, pumps, air compressors, hydraulic and pneumatic systems
- Ability to troubleshoot single and three phase motors as well as DC motors
- Ability to troubleshoot and repair automated machinery, knowledge of level, temperature, pressure, optical sensors
- Basic knowledge of PLC/HMI relay logic systems
- Steam system/boiler equipment experience
- Basic steel/aluminum MIG welding
- Experience with pipe installation including PVC, copper, black, stainless
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, blueprints, and schematics
- Familiarity with CMMS systems (Computerized Maintenance Management Systems)
- Proficient in use of hand tools, power tools, and measuring instruments such as micrometers, calipers, multimeters
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
- Must be able to work independently with minimal supervision
- Must be able to work some overtime with at least 48-hour notice when possible.
